We know some churches have a bad reputation when it comes to money, and a lot of that’s deserved.
Just know that at CalChurch, we don’t expect you to give, especially if you’re new around here…
…but we do talk about money, and we do collect an offering. Here’s why: The purpose of tithing—giving God a percentage of our income—is to teach us to always to put God first in our lives. It’s a reminder that God is the supplier of everything we have. And it’s an invitation to receive an outpouring of blessing in our life.
What’s more, scripture teaches us to “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” (Malachi 3:10) This is the only place in Scripture where God tells us to put him to the test.
In other words, God’s saying, “Go ahead. I dare you. See if you can out-give me.”
When you reach the place where you believe God is wise and believe God is trustworthy, you’ll naturally want to give back to him. When you’re ready, we encourage you to start giving faithfully and watch what he does in and through your life. You won’t be disappointed.

Tithing
Tithing
What is Tithing?
Tithing is a way to worship God, because it shows Him that we trust His provision in our lives. “Tithe” means ten percent, which is the portion of our income that we give to God to say thank you for all He has given us. God doesn’t need our money, He wants our trust, and trusting Him with our finances is a great way to demonstrate our dependence on Him.
How much is my Tithe?
Take your gross weekly pay and multiply by .10 (or 10%) to determine your weekly tithe.
For Example, $800 gross per week x .10 = $80 weekly tithe.
Of course, no amount is too big or too small.
